Seeking a versatile radar/communications project engineer to work as part of, or lead a project
engineering team responsible for capture and analysis of Radar/Communications/Navigation/IFF signal
signatures during EW ground test operations within the Benefield Anechoic Facility (BAF). Duties to
include test support, analysis and performance evaluation of various signal types, to include radar
and communication systems and their associated equipment. Candidate will conduct signal research
using established Intelligence databases and products, establish waveform modeling criteria, direct
and/or conduct tests according to plans, analyze test results and write comprehensive reports.
Individual must interface with other engineering disciplines, operations personnel, customer
representatives, technicians and other internal/external organizations to satisfy customer test
requirements. Provide EW Threat-specific support to internal/external customers as needed.
Applicants must be well versed in microwave systems theory and technology, and should be able to
use a sound Engineering approach to analyze the design and technical performance of various
one-of-a-kind systems.
Associates degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics with 5-7 years of RF and EMI/EMC test
experience or 10-15 years experience in-lieu of degree. Non-degreed applicants must have
demonstrated experience in specified operational EMI/EMC arena. Candidate will have fundamental
knowledge of /or experience in a majority of the following areas: RADAR, RF propagation, antennas,
analog and digital electronics, signal processing and computer control of test equipment. Candidate
should be familiar with special test equipment design and design support to qualification tests. Must
be proficient with terminology and concepts associated with RF engineering and electromagnetics and
how they relate to systems compatibility. Must have a demonstrated capability to solve technical
problems across a variety of technical disciplines. Experience with database manipulation,
spreadsheet utilization and word processing required. Good technical writing and communication
skills required. Additional in-depth knowledge or experience in EMI/EMC test planning and execution
a must. Position requires walking, bending, stooping and lifting up to 50 pounds with occasional
overnight support. Individual must possess a professional, courteous, reliable, self-starter
attitude. Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS security clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 5-7 years of RF, RADAR and/or signal analysis experience
or 15-20 years RF signals collection/analysis experience in-lieu of degree. Non-degreed applicants
must have demonstrated experience in specific operational ELINT/SIGINT arena. Possess fundamental
knowledge of or experience in a majority of the following areas: RADAR, RF propagation, antennas,
waveform analysis, RF and microwave solid-state components, analog and digital electronics, signal
processing and computer control of test equipment. Proficient with terminology and concepts
associated with RF engineering and waveform analysis. Demonstrated capacity to solve technical
problems across a variety of technical disciplines. Experience with database manipulation,
spreadsheet utilization and word processing required. Good technical writing and communication
skills. Additional in-depth knowledge or experience in signal collection systems a must.
Position requires walking, bending, stooping and lifting up to 50 pounds with occasional overnight
support. Ability to obtain and hold a TS/SSBI security clearance a must. In-depth knowledge of
Matlab, all Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Project and other COTS software packages.
Proficiency in a modern software programming language.
