Design, develop, integrate and test flight-critical hardware and software systems for piloted,
remotely piloted and autonomously operated research and experimental aircraft and space vehicles.
Requires a sound understanding of aerospace system development engineering principles and practices.
Duties include determining design requirements; defining interfaces to other systems including data
requirements; simulation development and use; software development and test; hardware development and
test; system integration and test; flight test development; ground testing including verification and
validation; design and test documentation; and flight test support, including monitoring the flight
from the control rooms, conducting post-flight data analysis, and reporting.
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in physics, aerospace, mechanical, or electrical
engineering. Masters degree preferred. Minimum 10 years experience. Strong computer operating skills
are necessary. Applicant must have excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
with minimal supervision. Must also have the ability to skillfully communicate orally and in
with other discipline engineers and all levels of management.
