This position supports the Benefield Anechoic Facility (BAF) located at the Air Force Test Center on Edwards Air Force Base as a part of a
15 year service contract that started July 2018.
Constructs components, subunits, simple models and adapts standard equipment. Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions requiring simple
solutions. Conducts tests, which may require minor modifications in setups or procedures. Prepares test specimens, adjusts and
operates equipment and records test data, pointing out deviations resulting in malfunctions or observational errors. Recommends
design modifications by compiling data related to designs, specifications, and materials. Provides technical guidance to lower
level technicians. An error in judgement or failure to achieve results would normally require a moderate expenditure of resources
An Engineering Technician with the Radio Frequency (RF) Monitoring Team will be expected to provide technical support for
Electronic Warfare (EW) ground testing within an anechoic testing facility. Duties include but are not limited to: configuring test
equipment and related RF components and maneuvering equipment to assigned locations in preparation for test in accordance with test
requirements and design; perform test equipment monitoring and operations in test control room; provide technical support of varying
scope and complexity to higher level technicians/engineers on the team and other capabilities, as necessary; reliably support
teamwork culture with a consistently positive attitude and maintain professional working interactions with all personnel.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum High school graduate and additional higher level training or coursework obtained from an accredited institution in a S.T.E.M
(Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) specialty, or prior Military service with experience in a like or similar field that
equates to at least 2 years demonstrated experience and prepares an individual to handle and adapt to the complexity of RF testing
A strong candidate will possess a working knowledge of electronic fundamentals with a technical support background, preferably in
the EMI/EMC or other RF testing field utilizing Spectrum Analyzers, Network analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Signal generators, and other
test measurement equipment.
Must be able to demonstrate a capacity to logically solve technical challenges of varying complexity and effectively communicate
suggestions and solutions in written and verbal form.
Experience with database manipulation, spreadsheet utilization, word processing and other basic to advanced computer operator
functions is required.
Must be driven and able to improve one's knowledge and skillset to adjust to fluctuations in the technical environment.
Experience working in an Electromagnetic Interference / Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMI/EMC) or other RF testing environment in
a technical support role is considered a plus.
Hands on experience using Spectrum Analyzers, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes, Network Analyzers, and other RF / EMI/EMC test
equipment is desired.
Must be a US Citizen and hold or be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
Must be a U.S. citizen and hold or be able to obtain a security clearance.
Must pass a background check and drug test.
