Job Title:Senior Engineer - Technical Test Engineer for Aviation Weapons
Location:Edwards AFB, CA
Salary Range DoE:$88,000 - $125,000

Description:

Our team is seeking a Weapons Integration Engineer who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will provide support in the Test and Evaluation (T&E) field of bomber aircraft systems with emphasis on weapon systems integration; planning, preparing, executing, and reporting for Developmental T&E.

Job duties entail 4 main categories:
  1. Test planning
    • Can perform work as test designer and systems engineer; includes developing requirements, authoring test plans and technical reports, and defining measures of performance.
    • Able to identify key performance parameters and developing data capture methodologies.
    • Author test plans and test cards IAW local Edwards AFB guidance, 412-TIH-20-01 (among many others).
  2. Test execution
    • Support lab, ground and flight testing to execute and close test points contained in test plans in accordance with the capabilities required to be tested for the System Under Test (SUT).
    • Expected to support system testing in a laboratory environment as a test engineer and in a flight test control room as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
    • Support sustainment block update programs on multiple platforms using customer requirements to formulate test points based on aircrew-reviewed and approved Measurements of Performance (MOP).
  3. Test analysis
    • Use various software tools (MATLAB, Python, etc.) for aircraft test data analysis of 1553 bus data of multiple weapon systems.
    • Exposure to some sort of software programming is a must, basic level of exposure is ok but must have capacity to learn.
  4. Test reporting
    • Develop and deliver presentations via various methods to inform customers of key performance measures and program statuses.
    • Review aircrew and engineer-derived Watch Items (WIT) for potential conversion into a Deficiency Report (DR) IAW EAFBI 99-24.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in programming languages, Python preferred.
  • Strong writing skills, comfortable with writing and editing formal documentation.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • ABET accredited Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
  • Ability to obtain Program Access and a Top Secret security clearance.

Must be a U.S. citizen or Naturalized citizen of the United States and hold or be able to obtain a security clearance. Must pass a background check and drug test.
