Airspace Utilization Reporting Systems
Spiral Technology developed an Airspace Utilization Reporting
System (AURS) for use by the joint services R-2508 Range Complex
Control Board in its R-2508 Central Coordinating Facility (CCF) at
the High Desert Terminal Radar Approach Control at Edwards Air Force
Base, California. AURS is a replacement for the previous
non-operational Radar Data Processor system which, due to
evolutionary changes in hardware and software technology, was
comparatively cumbersome and difficult to operate. AURS accomplishes
three primary objectives:
- Generates a database populated by airspace utilization data
- Generates a variety of airspace utilization reports that are
required by higher headquarters and are acceptable to the Department
of Defense and the Federal Aviation Administration
- Automates functions previously performed manually by the CCF
Airspace Managers.
