Information Technology Support

ASD provides full Information Technology support to it's customers. This support includes the design, installation, administration, maintenance and operations required to provide information to the user at the desktop. ASD provides support across a variety of platforms, operating systems, LAN configurations and hosts. ASD provided all the Information Technology support to NASA Dryden Flight Research Center, located at Edwards, California.

A summary list of capabilities include:

  • LAN design, deployment, administration and maintenance. ASD employees support LAN structures including Gigabit and ATM backbones, and edge devices.
  • Desktop maintenance services. ASD can support the maintenance of desktop devices such as computers, printers and peripherals. Platforms include UNIX and Linux desktops, Wintel and MacIntosh PCs.
  • System Administration. ASD can support all system administration functions for server and mainframe hosts. ASD employees support Sun, SGI, MacIntosh and Wintel mainframes and servers. Operating environments include Solaris, IRIX, Mac OS, Windows Server (NT) and Novell. ASD employees also provide system administration and programming support for mainframe server/client applications such as SyBase, Oracle, SQL Server, MAXIMO, Meeting Maker, MS Exchange, Eudora, and Netscape.
  • IT Security. ASD can develop IT security policies, procedures and firewall deployment and administration.
  • Cable Plant. ASD can provide all cable plant services. These services include all LAN, telephone, audio, and local CCTV cable design, installation and maintenance.
  • Telephone Services. ASD can maintain telephone switches and nodes. ASD employees can provide all services required to meet customer telephone requirements from the switch to the desktop.
  • Help and Service Desk. ASD can provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 helpdesk services. As a part of the helpdesk function, ASD also provides a service desk function to facilitate a one-call option to track and expedite all IT related requests, (e.g. moves, adds and changes, software upgrades and installation, IT site surveys, user accounts and passwords, etc.).
  • Facility Telephone Operators. ASD can provide telephone operators to answer and direct calls from the central telephone console.
  • Web Page Development. ASD provides web page development.
